Spring Cab of Colorado Springs was recently granted approval to expand their service area by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission (PUC) which regulates ground transportation companies with in the state including taxi, shuttle, limousine and charter bus operators.
Spring Cab’s service area was expanded to include 20 counties along the Front Range. Their new coverage area will extend approximately 200 miles north to south and also east to west. Previously the taxicab operator was restricted to pickup passengers only in El Paso County and at Denver International Airport.
Spring Cab currently operates a taxi fleet of 19 vehicles. They are authorized by the PUC to operate up to a maximum of 40 taxis. Their cap will increase to 45 taxis starting on July 1st and increase to 50 vehicles on Jan 1, 2013.
