The Sustainability, Planning and Economic Enhancement Department (SPEED) of Miami-Dade County recently completed the sale of 6 taxicab medallions. The medallions sold at auction ranged in price from $312,000 to $431,000.
This was the first “public auction” of taxicab medallions in Miami-Dade County. There are currently 2,105 taxicab medallions operating in the County.
Two of the auctioned medallions were designated for wheelchair accessible taxis.
