Jeffrey Goldfarb, an interim attorney retained by the SunLine Services Group (SSG) which is responsible for the regulation of Coachella Valley taxi companies recently advised the SSG board that they do not have the authority to block the ownership change at American Cab.
As a result, American Cab of Palm Springs will continue to operate in Coachella Valley.
In December 2011, the chairman of the Sunline Services Group made a motion to reject the ownership change from A.J. Saini and family to Rykal LLC. The motion failed and board members opted to further deliberate. If approved, Coachella Valley’s busiest taxi company would have been forced to stop operating in the valley.
