The Salt Lake City International Airport recently awarded exclusive airport contracts to provide on-demand taxi service from the SLC Airport. Contracts were awarded to both Total Transit and Ace Taxi Service. Both companies are out-of-state firms.
The airport taxi contract is scheduled to start in late November of this year. According to the airport, the awarded companies will operate newer vehicles which are company owned and will also offer wheelchair-accessible taxis for the disabled. Vehicles will be equipped with a back seat terminal to accept payments by debit or credit card.
Yellow Cab, Ute Cab and City Cab currently provide on-demand taxi service from the Salt Lake City Airport. These providers operate on a month-to-month basis and their contracts will be terminated later this year.
