City Council recently approved a 2 year moratorium on issuing new Sacramento taxi permits. The city is considering reducing the number of permitted taxicabs and the suspension will allow city staff more time to explore and study this issue.
Since 2004, the number of Sacramento taxis operating within the city has increased 66%.
