San Diego Airport Ground Transportation Operators Offered Funds to Go Green

The California Center for Sustainable Energy (CCSE) is offering rebates to San Diego ground transportation operators including taxi, shuttle and limousine companies which are licensed to operate to and from the SAN Airport.  The Airport Vehicle Rebate Program (AVRP) will award up to $750,000 to providers which operate high fuel economy vehicles including gas, electric, hybrid, compressed natural gas (CNG) and propane powered vehicles.

The rebate program is scheduled to start in June, 2011.   Rebates range from $1,000 to $7,500 and vary according to vehicle type, model year and fuel technology.

Eligibility Requirements for San Diego Ground Transportation Operators include
-  Rebates will be awarded to taxi, limousine and shuttle companies who are permitted to operate to and from the San Diego Intl Airport.
-  The total maximum number of rebates awarded is five per operator.
-  Providers must operate the high fuel economy vehicle at the SAN Airport for a minimum of 3 years.
-  Rebates will apply to qualified vehicle purchases starting from July 1, 2010.
